Obi-Wan Kenobi Will Have A Different Darth Vader From The Films
Who doesn’t love Obi-Wan? It’s been some amazing years for the Star Wars fans as we saw new movies, spin-offs, and even animated series from the franchise. So it was but natural that the fans went all bizarre when they announced limited series on everyone’s favorite Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Ewan McGregor is returning as the Jedi Master but that’s not all, even Hayden Christensen comes back as Darth Vader. But recently, the director Deborah Chow said that the Disney+ version of Anakin Skywalker will be nothing as the fans have seen om the film till now!
During his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Deborah Chow (director) gave a sneak peek to fans about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series!
Here’s what he said:
“For us, it’s very similar [to Obi-Wan] in the sense that he’s in between these two trilogies,” Chow expressed to EW. “So he isn’t the New Hope Vader quite yet, you know what I mean? So we are with the character sort of in the middle of this period. It is still Vader obviously, but it’s a Vader that isn’t quite as fully formed as A New Hope.”
Darth Vader has been sort of a constant character in both live-action as well as animation series and with the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, we don’t know how would the character be explored. Though it is unknown if Darth Vader will have a small cameo or would he be there for an episode or two or the entire series. Deborah Chow is of the strong belief that the relationship between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan is very important for their story. And let us remind you that it has been 17 years since Ewan and Hayden appeared together for their characters.
Hayden is going to take some help from technology to make him look younger for his role in the series.
The plot of Obi-Wan:
The series is set after 10 years of 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III and we will see Obi-Wan watching over Luke on Tatooine. But he will get involved in another adventure with a Jedi aka Nari. Nari is being hunted by the Inquisitors.
The limited series is set to release on 25th May. There will be six episodes in total. The series has a stellar cast, joining Hayden and Ewan are, Rupert Friend, Joel Edgerton, Sung Kang, Indira Varma, Bonnie Piesse, and Kumail Nanijani along with others.
Set your calendars for the series, you don’t want to pass this one!
