The streaming giant recently launched the highly anticipated One Piece, and fans are in awe of the show. The series centers around Monkey D. Luffy and his crew on a quest to find the fabled One Piece, a mystery artifact. The show has a star-stunned cast like Iñaki Godoy taking the lead role. Surprisingly, his salary for One Piece is much higher than what Millie Bobby Brown was paid for her debut in Stranger Things.

One Piece‘s debut on Netflix has excited all the anime fans as they were waiting for the live-action adaptation. The first season of the streaming giant’s One Piece remake presents a condensed retelling of Oda’s magnum opus. The story centers around Monkey D. Luffy and his quest to become the next pirate king.

The series features Iñaki Godoy in the lead, playing the Luffy character. Netflix has assembled a talented cast like Mackenyu Arata, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar for the show. 

The surprising part of the series is it reportedly boasts a budget of $18 million per episode, making it one of the most expensive shows ever made. Also, the cast of the show has received a heavy amount of cheques.

Recently reports claim that Godoy, who plays the lead in the live-action series, is paid 16 times more than what Millie Bobby Brown got for her debut in the popular show Stranger Things.

According to reports, the One Piece star’s salary for the first season of the show is $320,000. The young actress who played Eleven on the famous sic-fi show received $20,000 per episode on the first season of Stranger Things.

Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, the founding member of the Straw Hat crew in One Piece, received $200,000. Mackenyu, as Roronoa Zoro, got $220,000. While Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji were paid $150,000 each.

Following in the footsteps of the 2017 Death Note movie and the 2021 series Cowboy Bebop by becoming the latest anime and manga franchise to receive a live-action version, Netflix has finally brought the highly anticipated One Piece to life.

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s Manga series One Piece, the live-action series centers around the straw hat pirate boy Monkey D. Buffya and his voyage to find a great treasure with his crew of straw hat pirates. Together, they go on a quest to look for the mythical treasure One Piece, which grants its finder the title of King of the Pirates.

Season one of the series consists of eight episodes and covers the East Blue saga from the anime and the manga. The cast of One Piece includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Vincent Regan as Vice Admiral Garp, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown, and Morgan Davies as Koby.

The live-action adaptation of One Piece is available to stream on Netflix.
