‘Oppenheimer’ Actor Was Treated Brutally by Robert De Niro Despite Selflessly Saving ‘Heat’ Star’s Twins in the Past
Robert De Niro, a long-time collaborator of director Martin Scorsese, is one of the veterans in Hollywood. The millions of fans he has also includes some of the best actors in the entertainment industry. Oppenheimer actor David Krumholtz is no exception. However, their interaction did not go as well as Krumholtz wanted it to.
This leads us to wonder what happened between them and thankfully, Inside of You Clips has got us covered as the host managed to get the story out of the Numb3ers star despite his initial reluctance.
David Krumholtz Made Sure Robert De Niro’s Twin Kids Were Safe
David Krumholtz might not be a very famous actor, but he has been in the profession for three decades. This has given him the chance to meet or even work with some of the most famous actors out there.
In an interview on Inside of You Clips, Krumholtz revealed how he saved the Killers of the Flower Moon star’s twin kids from any potential danger in his early 20s. He said that when he was in Tribeca to discuss his first lead role in a small indie film with the producer, he found himself standing across the hall from De Niro’s apartment.
David Krumholtz had watched Raging Bull only a week ago so he was pretty shocked as he stood there with a box of pizza in his hand, but then Robert De Niro slammed his door shut. After gathering himself together, he went towards the elevator only to find De Niro’s five or six-year-old twin kids standing there.
When the kids were denied the pizza, they got on the elevator so now Krumholtz only had the option to get on the elevator and ride down to the lobby with them. After getting down there, he pressed their floor number and told them to go home. If it was not for him, the kids could have gotten into trouble.
David Krumholtz’s Interaction with Robert De Niro
Never meet your heroes, they say. Maybe David Krumholtz should have taken their advice instead of introducing himself to one of his heroes, but the matter of the fact is that he didn’t. Consequently, he now has a rather awkward story of meeting with legendary actor Robert De Niro.
Fast forward to when Krumholtz went to the Tribeca Film Festival as the juror, he got the chance to talk to De Niro. He told him the story about his kids and they had a good laugh. Then, it was announced that they would go upstairs and deliberate on the films.
Ironically, David Krumholtz found himself standing with Robert De Niro in front of the elevator to go upstairs. He tried to be funny and said:
“You’ll be the third De Niro I’ll be riding an elevator with.”
While Krumholtz laughed at his own joke, Robert De Niro said that he was going to take the stairs, and went on to walk up the stairs leaving the former there. This mortified The Plot Against America actor as this obviously was not how he wanted his meeting with De Niro to go.
