Rumer Willis calls Bruce Willis ‘best girl dad in the game’
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis who back in April welcomed daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas took to her social media to share a picture of the actor holding his granddaughter on the occasion of Father’s Day. She wrote in the caption,
“Seeing my father hold my daughter today was something I will treasure for the rest of my life. His sweetness and love for her was so pure and beautiful. Papa I’m so lucky to have you and so is Lou. Thank you for being the silliest, most loving, coolest Daddio a girl could ask for. Best Girl Dad in the game..”
Rumer Willis in one of her posts had posted a picture of Bruce Willis holding her when she was young and captioned it saying,
“Really missing my papa today.”
Rumer’s sister Tallulah also shared a couple of pictures with Bruce Willis on her IG and wrote, ‘You’re my whole damn heart and I’m so proud to be your Tallulah Belle Bruce Willis.’ The actor’s family is close-knit and with his challenges with his FTD, they have been coping in their own ways and making things work.
Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis says she feels ‘guilty’ over having ‘access to resources’
Rumer Willis’ post comes after her step-mother and Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis penned an essay for Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper in which she detailed her challenges and struggles with coming to terms with the actor’s ongoing battle with FTD. She writes,
“I struggle with guilt, knowing that I have resources that others don’t. When I’m able to get out for a hike to clear my head, it’s not lost on me that not all care partners can do that. When what I share about my family’s journey gets press attention, I know that there are many thousand of untold, unheard stories each of them deserving of compassion and concern.”
The entrepreneur continued to share that it’s important for her to be an advocate on behalf of those families who cannot or don’t have the time energy or resources to advocate for themselves.
Bruce’s wife who has been an avid advocate for the FTD wrote about six lessons she learned throughout the journey since the diagnosis. The lessons are; there is strength in community, never underestimate the power of awareness, research is a pivotal moment, it’s important to find meaning in the journey, there is power in giving back and lastly hope is everything.
