Paul Rudd responded to speculation that Bill Murray may appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania:
Actor Paul Rudd has responded to speculation that Bill Murray may appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Rudd is now filming the third solo Ant-Man picture, alongside old co-stars Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer, as well as new cast members Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors. Peyton Reed is back in the director’s chair, this time with a script by Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness. A recent rumor claimed that Bill Murray has been cast in Ant-Man 3.Murray quickly replied to the report on Jimmy Kimmel Live, providing a cryptic non-denial reaction that fueled suspicion even further. “I am not at liberty to talk about it,” the seasoned actor replied to the question.
When being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, Rudd replied to the rumor:
Now, Rudd has addressed the issue during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Rudd, who was just awarded People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2021, responded to a straight question regarding Murray’s involvement in the picture in his usual evasive manner, claiming he’d “heard about this story” and comparing it to people mistaking it for Murray’s role in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The actor doesn’t deny the report, but his trademark levity is on full display, which, like Murray’s reaction, is neither confirmation nor denial. Take a look at his reaction below:

Bill Murray Will Appear in Ghostbusters: Afterlife:
Murray’s participation in Ghostbusters: Afterlife is well-known at this time, but the elusive actor is notoriously selective about the parts he chooses. He’s become a regular cast member in Wes Anderson’s films by this point, playing in a variety of roles for the auteur’s work. Otherwise, Murray appears in a few films as a small player, a guest star, or in surprising roles in unexpected films. The actor is currently filming Anderson’s next film, Asteroid City, and is set to appear in Peter Farrelly’s next picture, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, alongside Zac Efron and Russell Crowe. While it appears that Murray will have a cameo in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it will most likely be a modest but humorous role that will offer some extra charm to the flick. Of course, Murray might surprise everyone by having a considerably larger role in the picture, albeit where that role falls on either end of the spectrum is anyone’s guess. Murray joins the ranks of many seasoned performers who have dipped their toes in the MCU water, including Ant-Man star Michael Douglas, Robert Redford, William Hurt, Michael Keaton, and Sylvester Stallone, as one of Hollywood’s most respected actors and comedians. Whoever he is (or isn’t) playing, is in good company for his comic-book debut.
