The Man of Steel stand-in actor Brad Abramenko has high hopes to make more future appearances as the DCEU’s version of Superman after his cameo in the first season finale of Peacemaker on HBO Max.

Taking to Instagram, Abramenko went on to launch the hashtag #MySuperman for his fans to show support for his take on the DC character. “Were you about to say something? Am I your Superman guys? If you want me to be, comment #MySuperman on my most recent posts and let’s get this going!” he wrote, tagging the official accounts for DC, HBO Max and Peacemaker. Abramenko also shared a video of himself in the Superman suit, writing, “Should I be back for Season 2 of Peacemaker?”

The final episode of the first season of Peacemaker, “It’s Cow or Never,” shocked all DCEU fans with its cameos by four members of the iconic Justice League: Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. While DCEU stars Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa went on to reprise their roles as The Flash and Aquaman, respectively, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill were not present to play their respective superhero personas.

The curious case of DCEU doubles!

Instead, these two iconic superheroes were portrayed by their body doubles, with Abramenko playing Superman and Kimberley von Ilberg playing the Amazon Princess, Diana. Actor Matt Turner was also cast as the double for Affleck’s Batman, although both the Cyborg and Knight (played by Ray Fisher in the DCEU) were eventually cut from the finale of Peacemaker. Going on to address the exclusion of these characters from the season finale, series creator James Gunn revealed, “You know, I don’t know what I can — there are reasons for it, but I’m actually uncertain whether I can say what those reasons are,” Gunn explained. “It might have to do with future stuff.”

Anyhow, Abramenko was quite quick to celebrate his turn as Superman with a behind-the-scenes image. “My dream came true when I became the 12th Superman,” he wrote on Instagram. “An honor to slip into [Henry Cavill’s] suit!” Interestingly, Abramenko isn’t really the DCEU’s first body double for Superman, with Ryan Handley also donning Cavill’s suit to play Superman from the neck down in the 2019’s Shazam!.

All Peacemaker episodes of Season 1 are now streaming on HBO Max. Peacemaker has been renewed for Season 2 by HBO Max.
