Peacemaker Season 2 Theory Brings Back 1 DC Villain for Revenge Arc Against John Cena
Peacemaker, starring John Cena, is the first official DCEU TV series, and its success is already palpable. Director James Gunn, who seems to have taken the helm of DC with his upcoming Superman: Legacy and one other Suicide Squad spin-off, is the mastermind behind this success.
The show, with its witty, vulgar humor within a dark atmosphere that has incredibly layered and nuanced characters, owned the hearts of the audience almost immediately. Whip Media actually went on to point out that it was the third-highest original streaming series for U.S. viewership in the week it premiered.
Season 2 is slated to release after Superman: Legacy (according to James Gunn’s Twitter), which means the audience can see it around 2025 or in 2026. This long wait time has made the fans impatient, and they have started to come up with theories of possible plot arcs in season 2.
Peacemaker season 2 theory brings back this DC villain
Judomaster was one of the main antagonists of season 1. According to a theory by Comic Book Resources, Judomaster might make an appearance in season 2. Their theory is that since Peacemaker and his team managed to destroy the butterflies and their precious “cows” under Judomaster, he will seek revenge against him. If not the main villain, he might return as a secondary antagonist.

It is not just the magazine Comic Book Resources that has put out this theory. According to another magazine, The Mary Sue, Judomaster seemed visibly upset after seeing the wreckage left behind by Peacemaker and his team. They are sure that this will not be the last of Judomaster in the franchise. However, they are speculating whether Judomaster will go into full revenge mode or whether he will join forces with Peacemaker since he is left with no cause.
Die-hard fans of the comic books will know that Judomaster served on a team with Peacemaker once. So, the theory of him losing purpose, joining forces with the Peacemaker team again in season 2, and acting against a new villain cannot be thrown out of the window.
A few other Peacemaker season 2 theories
Since James Gunn is notorious for his love for cameos, many are expecting The Suicide Squad members to make an appearance in season 2 of the show. Many fans are also expecting a possible romance between Harcourt and Peacemaker. As we can see in season 1, when Harcourt gets injured and admitted to the hospital, the nurse says Smith has been there every day waiting on her. This could hint at a possible romance brewing between the two of them.
Many are strongly speculating that Peacemaker will have to confront the ghost of his father, Auggie Smith. At the end of season 1, fans can see him sitting in his trailer with the ghost of his father. This can indicate unresolved trauma due to his father’s demise. Since his father is the one who turned him into the patriotic killer he is now, he has become the face of his guilt and trauma. So, fans might be seeing more of this and how Smith comes to terms with the ghost of his father in season 2.
Although the audience is expecting Amanda Waller and Judomaster to return to their thrones as antagonists, it won’t be a far-fetched theory to go bigger since in the comics Peacemaker even fought Joker. James Gunn might go big and introduce other big villains, and the possible candidates can be Emil Bork, the Lavamen, Kobra Cult, Doctor Tzin-Tzin, Parasite, or Eclipso.
Season 1 of the show is streaming on Prime Videos.
