Pedro Pascal Reveals His Acting Career Would have been in Shambles Without Game of Thrones
Every actor has that one movie or show that puts them on the metaphorical Hollywood map. For Pedro Pascal, who’s having quite a smashing time by the way, it was Game of Thrones. Even though he was seen in a couple of episodes as a recurring actor, the HBO show gained him massive fame that he never could have imagined. Since then, there’s been no stopping him.
Pedro Pascal Credits Game of Thrones for His Hollywood Success
The HBO show Game of Thrones had a phenomenal 9-season run. Discounting the lackluster end to the show, it went on to sweep awards in various categories during its time on air. Even today, people keep going back to rewatch the show and witness its glorious legacy. Many actors including Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, and Peter Dinklage became household names after their time on the show.

Another actor who credits the show for his successful career is Pedro Pascal, who was recently cast as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie. Pascal’s popularity has been on the rise, given his incredible skills and talents. He is finally being recognized by the industry. After Game of Thrones, Pascal went on to be a part of the burgeoning Star Wars universe and has now stepped into the Marvel Cinematic Universe too.
In a conversation with Vanity Fair, the actor expressed how the show helped him make his way in the industry. He said,
“The role that changed my life was in Game of Thrones. I will always credit its creators for taking a chance on someone who had nothing but unknown theater credits and episodic television on their résumé. I am still in awe at the opportunity that was handed to me by David Benioff, Dan Weiss, and Carolyn Strauss. Without Thrones, I would not have had Narcos, The Mandalorian, or The Last of Us.”
Most recently, he was seen in the HBO show The Last of Us, which is an adaptation of the very popular video game. The show features Pascal in a post-apocalyptic world where he has to navigate various challenges while protecting his young companion. Full of drama, suspense, and action, the show has made its way into people’s watchlists across the world and won many awards for its execution.

Pedro Pascal’s Upcoming Movie
Before fans see him don the iconic blue uniform for Fantastic Four, we will see in the sequel to Gladiator which is set to release this year. Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington headline the movie with Pascal in an undisclosed role. He recounted his experience on set with the director Ridley Scott,
“I’ve been a part of big sets where the identity of the project, in a sense, is its size—and still, I have not been on a set as impressive as Gladiator’s. [Director] Ridley [Scott] leaves very little to the imagination in the most old-fashioned sense. All the players and pieces are there on the day, and suddenly the expected challenge of believing yourself as a powerful person in the era of the Roman Empire is evaporated.”
The sequel of the Oscar-winning movie has been widely anticipated, partly because it earned millions at the box office. There have been many projects revolving around historical wars, but Gladiator still has a special place in people’s minds. What Game of Thrones was for Pascal, Gladiator was for Russell Crowe who overnight became an actor to watch out for.
