Following Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal gained a reputation as an adoptive father for his roles in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us. One thing led to another and now, he is not only a Marvel star but also starring in the sequel of Ridley Scott’s Oscar-winning movie Gladiator.

Despite all that he has achieved, he is only human. Just like any other person in the world, he too has his own struggles and his anxiety seems to be one of those. This was very evident during his SAG speech (via X) when he was trying to hold back his tears and even mentioned a panic attack.

During his acceptance speech, he admitted to being drunk and then went on to thank everyone who helped him win that award. He thanked his family at the end of the speech and then said: “I’m gonna have a panic attack, and I’m gonna leave.”

This moment speaks volumes about his gesture in his viral video with Vanessa Kirby in which he can be seen touching her upper arm and Kirby immediately reaches behind her to hold his hand and holds it for the rest of the clip. Some fans seemed to understand the situation and even defended it.

Initially, when the video surfaced on the internet, a lot of people online speculated that maybe their relationship was not platonic like they had assumed. However, as it turns out, this video clip is a statement of Kirby’s empathy for her co-star.

Every person has a different coping mechanism when it comes to dealing with their anxiety and Pascal revealed his during his red carpet appearance with The Last of Us co-star Bella Ramsey.

In the video, Ramsey can be seen holding Pascal’s hand on his torso which led to the latter explaining to her why he posed that particular way. He asked her: “You know why?” When Ramsey asked him so, he explained: “Because my anxiety is right here.” The young actress gave him an understanding nod and a sweet smile to tell him that she understood.

Over the years, Pascal has been seen striking that pose every time he is on the red carpet, during photo calls, and even when he is with his close friends like actress Sarah Paulson whom he has known for years. This also seems to explain why he was seeking Vanessa Kirby’s arm during his on-stage appearance at Marvel’s panel at Hall H.
