In the world of anticipation where fans wait even for the slightest update for one of their favorite upcoming TV series, comes a massive update concerning The Last Of Us Part II. The HBO TV adaptation of the Video game season one has been insanely popular among fans and even viewers who weren’t familiar with the game before.
The Last of Us Part II, the second part of the video game series, will be the inspiration for Season 2, which will also feature numerous new characters integral to its plot. Season 1 was based on the first video game in the series and season 2 will start filming as soon as the Hollywood strikes conclude. Fans now have confirmation that Abby, the most crucial new character for season 2, has been cast.
Major Cast Update on The Last of Us Part II
In Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal as the main lead, it has been revealed that the actor who will play Abby has been cast. The actor’s name hasn’t been made public yet, though HBO and showrunner Craig Mazin probably won’t do so until the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes are done. Mazin recently said that he struggled to locate an actor who was fit for the crucial part of Abby in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He also teased that they found precisely who they wanted, stating that he thinks they got it right.
“The strike stopped us in our tracks. Things were in process. Look, Abby was the first role that we wanted to tackle. We’ve got a pretty good track record of making major cast announcements and people going, ‘Really?’ which will probably continue. So people may disagree, but I think we got it right so far and the audience seems to feel we got it right and the Academy seems to feel we got it right.”
Fans should anticipate seeing a lot more of Abby in future episodes because she is a crucial character. Fans who have completed The Last of Us Part II video game, will be aware of how important Abby is to Joel and Ellie’s story because she is a playable character in that game. It was an important decision to bring Abby as she will be for a long period in the series as she was in the video game.
