Falling under the genres of horror and thriller, shark movies are quite popular and beneficial to an actor’s visibility and portfolio. This untitled project, which is produced by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick, gives Dynevor the opportunity to perform an entirely different kind of role than her previous ones.

Phoebe Dynevor Seemingly On the Path of Ana de Armas

Phoebe Dynevor rose to fame because of her role in Bridgerton. The Regency-era drama displayed her acting skills and helped her earn praise from viewers and critics. After that, Dynevor has been trying herself in different genres.

She acted along with Alden Ehrenreich in the erotic psychological thriller Fair Play, for which she received a BAFTA nomination. More current films include spy-thriller Inheritance and suspense-thriller Anniversary. They show her transition to more suspenseful and different roles.

This is similar to the situation of Ana de Armas, who made the transition from romantic and erotic thrillers to action movies. Comparing Dynevor’s career with that of de Armas, one can observe a possible path for her further development in the film industry.

Ana de Armas started in Spanish movies and series and came to the international limelight through the erotic thriller Knock Knock and the thriller Exposed. But she made her big leap to mainstream Hollywood through Blade Runner 2049, released in 2017. She was then featured in popular mystery movies like Knives Out and James Bond’s No Time to Die. It made her a known face in the action and thriller genres.

The comparison between Dynevor and de Armas is not only in the context of the characters they played but also in terms of career progression. The two actresses began with roles that focused on their appearance and then gradually moved to other roles with more depth.

De Armas as Paloma in No Time to Die showed her ability to handle action sequences that were not seen in her previous roles. Similarly, Dynevor’s shark thriller will not be like her period drama movies.

Similar to Ana de Armas, Phoebe Dynevor’s next shark movie can help her diversify her acting career and help her engage in more complex roles as de Armas did, which will improve her career sustainability and variability.

Sony Pictures has planned to start shooting a shark picture in Melbourne, Australia that will be directed by Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola. The title of the movie has not been decided yet. Known for his work on films such as Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and the action-comedy Violent Night, Wirkola’s directorial style will be present in this new project. The shooting of the movie is expected to start in July and will star Phoebe Dynevor.

According to Variety, Creative Victoria and VicScreen pointed out that the film would generate millions of Dollars for the Victoria state economy. It is expected to generate 30 million Australian Dollars (20 million USD) for the local economy and will also offer employment to almost 700 people. This is part of the Victorian Screen Incentive financing package that is meant to attract large-scale film productions in this region.

Besides the state incentives, the production will benefit from the federal government rebate schemes offered by Screen Australia. The government of Australia is implementing these measures to achieve its goal of turning the country into a destination for international film productions. The movie shooting will take place at Docklands Studios in Melbourne and other parts of Victoria. So it can be expected that the movie will have beautiful views.

The film is produced by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick of HyperObject Industries, the same team behind some masterpieces like Don’t Look Up and Succession. At the moment, the title, the plot, and extra casting information are a mystery.
