Piers Morgan Channels Inner High School Bully, Calls Roger Waters ‘Dumbest Rock Star’ After Pink Floyd Co-founder’s Controversial Ukraine Comment
The former Good Evening Britain presenter Piers Morgan has found himself in a controversial situation or rather a tweet about Roger Waters, the co-founder of Pink Floyd. Morgan is famous for his statements and tweets. In 2004, he was sacked after the British tabloid the Daily Mirror ran front-page pictures supposedly showing the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment of the British force torturing prisoners of war in Iraq. In 2011, Morgan was accused of involvement in the phone hacking scandal that embroiled the Daily Mirror, though he denied this. The same year, Morgan was Larry King’s replacement on CNN’s evening line-up with the launch of Piers Morgan Live. Unfortunately, his staunch views on gun regulation saw him engage in several heated debates.
The CNN interview of Roger Waters with presenter Michael Smerconish.
Waters, currently on his 2022 This Is Not A Drill tour, sat down with CNN presenter Michael Smerconish at the weekend to discuss music, tour, and politics. During the interview, when shown a montage on the screen that included pictures of Joe Biden, the musician stated:
“Well, he’s fueling the fire in the Ukraine for a start – that is a huge crime. Why won’t the United States of America encourage Zelenskyy to negotiate, obviating the need for this horrific, horrendous war that’s killing we don’t know how many Russians?”
When the presenter questioned his comments, Waters further stated that:
“Well, any war, when did it start? What you need to do is look at the history, and you can say, ‘Well it started on this day.’ You could say it [Ukraine-Russia conflict] started in 2008 – this war is basically about the action and reaction of NATO pushing right up to the Russian border, which they promised they wouldn’t do when Gorbachev negotiated the withdrawal of the USSR from the whole of eastern Europe.”
Waters had attracted attention on social media over his comments on the Ukraine war.
