Pokemon Go Collaboration Teased By Ed Sheeran – AND WE JUST CAN’T WAIT!
Ed Sheeran seems to be in love with the “Shape of Mew.” The singer has announced his plans to join hands with Pokemon Go. Ed Sheeran, who has won a British Grammy Award and has also appeared in Game of Thrones recently took to Twitter to post a rather cryptic tweet today to tease a collaboration with the globally known mobile game. We don’t have any more details regarding this for now, as nothing more was announced by Pokemon Go pages on social media or Ed Sheeran himself. Even the Pokemon Go blog has so far remained zipped about his assumed involvement.
Ed Sheeran Is Also A Pokemon Fan
Ed Sheeran is reportedly known to be a Pokemon fan. In May, the singer posted a picture of himself looking at a Snorlax plush, which was also accompanied by a message which said, “Snorlax knows what’s up.”
Here’s his tweet:

This is not the first time Ed Sheeran has shown his interest in the Pokemon franchise. He had previously stated on it, saying that Pokemon Black is quite “wicked” on his own Twitter handle. The singer’s favorite Pokemon is Articuno, which is a flying-type Pokemon but also happens to be an Ice-type one that could easily “f— up” other flying-type Pokemon. All of this makes one thing pretty clear – Ed Sheeran at some point was a Pokemon fan and still seems to have a somewhat soft spot for the beloved franchise. In a past interview, Sheeran also referred to Raikou, Entei, and Suicune as the “Legendary Dogs” when these are based on cats – which hints that his Pokemon knowledge certainly needs to brush up a lot.

If this collaboration is true (which seems like it is), it would be yet another major alliance between a musician and a Pokemon entity. The Pokemon Company has previously teamed up with musicians like Post Malone and Katy Perry and has produced a Pokemon-themed album. Thanks to this collab, Pikachu went on to appear in a Katy Perry video and later, a CG-ied version of Post Malone singing as various Pokemons listen.
It is quite unclear what the Ed Sheeran/Pokemon Go collaboration would be like. It could be a musical cross-promotion where all the players get some access to a new Sheeran song before everyone else. It is also possible that the game could have Ed Sheeran-themed Avatar poses added or maybe some clothing items to the game.
