It has been a long time since March when the academy awards took place. And it seems like Will Smith is finally making a comeback after the controversial incident at the Oscars. At the 94th academy awards, the American actor slapped the comedian Chris Rock in front of a live audience. The King Richard actor faced major backlash and hate from the media after the incident and received a decade-long ban from the academy awards.

Genius Talk is much like the famous Ted Talks show for LA Lakers. It is an annual event where celebrities talk with the team to offer inspiration and motivation. The LA Lakers have not had a good start to the season as they lost their first three games. This year, in an attempt to make a comeback the team invited Will Smith to talk at their annual event. The team posted to their social media and said the actor talked about, “strength through togetherness, and practicing gratitude in times of great challenge.”
The Focus actor was even presented with a No. 14 Lakers jersey by the org.
The American actor talked about his new movie Emancipation on the show
As revealed by sources, the actor talked about things inspired by the themes of his new movie on the Genius talk show. LA Lakers on their Twitter wrote, “All themes in his forthcoming masterpiece film, Emancipation.” Will Smith is all set and ready to promote his new movie, he reportedly showed the Apple+ movie to his close friends last weekend including Dave Chappelle. The movie has the American Civil War as its backdrop and where people are fighting to abolish slavery.

Earlier this month, Smith explained why he chose to do this movie although he usually avoids movies that show the slavery theme. He said, “This is not a film about slavery. This is a film about freedom.” He further added, “This is a film about resilience. This is a film about faith.”
Emancipation is the first movie of the American actor since the infamous incident at the Oscars. According to multiple sources, this movie is allegedly more ambitious than the King Richards movie and Will Smith has already won an Oscar for the latter.
