The royal family has always been the most interesting family in Britain. First, the stepping down of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, then the Coronation of 74-year-old Prince Charles, and now Prince Andrew’s refusal to leave his $37M Windsor Lodge despite repeated requests from his older brother King Charles III. Prince Andrew has been living in the lodge since 2003.

The Duke of York shifted homes along with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and with his two children after the passing of the previous resident, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. King Charles has requested him to vacate the royal residence, but the Prince has allegedly denied vacating his home where he has lived for more than two decades. King Charles is reportedly furious with his response.

Prince Andrew refuses to leave the $37 million royal lodge

King Charles is reportedly getting frustrated with Prince Andrew’s refusal to vacate the Royal Lodge worth $37 million which has almost 30 rooms in it! Causing yet another problem within the royal family. Prince Andrew is defying his older brother’s demands to leave the Windsor residence before Charles is crowned king on May 6, 2023.

Prince Andrew admits that it is the home that he has been living in with his family for years now and it is not relevant for them to shift just because Charles III is to be crowned now. Apparently, Prince Charles has even offered Frogmore Cottage as an alternative to Windsor residence for the Duke of York, but the prince has made up his mind on the decision not to leave.

Prince Andrew rejects King Charles’ offer

Prince Andrew has reportedly refused the offer of Frogmore Cottage from his brother, King Charles, as he believes it would be a step down from his current residence at the Royal Lodge, where he has lived for years now. Meanwhile, despite being given Frogmore Cottage by Queen Elizabeth in 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still use it as their official residence when they visit the UK. Although, It has been confirmed that the Duke and Duchess have been asked to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage ever since they moved to the United States and stepped down from their public duties of the British royal family.

Following their departure from the royal family, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry have been embroiled in new controversies, including the release of Prince Harry’s book called Spare and a documentary on Netflix, which have resulted in a strain with his family. Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has tried to maintain a low profile, since being stripped of his royal titles due to his involvement in a sexual assault allegation by Virginia Giuffre.
