Prince Harry, Meghan Markle To Be Deposed in Half-Sister Samantha Markle’s Lawsuit Over Bombshell Oprah Winfrey Interview
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been making malicious claims against the British Royal Family ever since their marriage. Claims of the late crown Elizabeth, being racist and not inclusive towards Meghan Markle have been spreading like wildfire on the internet. The royal couple appeared in an interview with Oprah Winfrey stating their intolerable experience while being in Buckingham palace.
Following the tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were sued for defamation by Samantha Markle. The couple was not only held accountable for defaming the British Royals but even Markle’s half-sister. Further, the Duke and Duchess shall be questioned on the basis of their 2021 interview.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down in an interview with Oprah Winfrey
After being married in 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their Royal roles in January 2020. The Sussexes were getting crushed under the royal family principles, the estranged relationship between Markle and her father, as well as the negative British Press coverage. Soon after stepping down from their roles, the couple decided to leave the country and move to California in March 2020.
Further Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. The Sussexes sat down to discuss the hardships they faced from the British press as well as their family members, which forced them to leave home and settle in the US. Throughout the entire interview, there were times when the couple took turns speaking about their childhood.
While Prince Harry spoke about his relationship with his brother, Markle shared “I wished I had siblings. I would’ve loved to have had siblings.” Evidently denying the presence of her half-sister Samantha Markle. She further pointed out that her half-sister “changed her last name back to Markle in – I think she was in her early 50s at that time – only when I started dating Harry.” Hellbent on pointing out the betrayal she faced from her sister, and the uncomfortable situation in their household landed her in great trouble.
The Suits actress’ claims of being the only child devoid of siblings and stating her estranged relationship with her half-sister brought her down the $75k defamation lawsuit.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sued for defamation
After the bombshell Oprah Winfrey Interview, the couple was held accountable for their words. Meghan Markle was further sued by her half-sister Samantha Markle for claiming herself to be the “only child” and for other defaming comments.
As per the court documents of Samantha Markle suing the Duchess, filed on Friday, the defamation is “based on demonstrably false and malicious statements made by her half-sister to a worldwide audience.” The lawsuit alleges that the Duchess’ claims on national television were just designed to destroy her half-sister’s reputation and subject her to public humiliation and shame.
The Remember Me actress tried to stop the deposition by requesting the judge however, the judge denied her attempts. The judge warned “Although a preliminary peek at the motion to dismiss suggests that some of the claims against her may be ripe for dismissal,” He further added, “the review does not reveal, at this time, a clear indication that the Court will dismiss the action in its entirety.”
The half-sister to Duchess denied all claims made by Meghan Markle in the 2021 interview and stated that those comments were simply orchestrated to defame and destroy the Markle family’s reputation. Therefore, Samantha Markle requested a trial by jury and seeks damages of $75k. Initially, the Duchess stated about her estranged relationship with her father, and now, the bad blood between the sisters is brought to the public eye.
Although there was the uncertainty of future lawsuits against the couple, they were still required to answer intimate questions about their personal relationships for Samantha Markle wanted answers focused on the Royals.
