‘Progress made for women was just complete bullsh**t’: Amber Heard Fans ‘Deeply Disturbed’ By the Way Aquaman Actress Was Treated by Johnny Depp Fans
The Depp-Heard trial that concluded in June 2022 has to be one of the most publicized trials. It had to do a lot with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard being well-known names in Hollywood. However, when it came to harsh judgments and criticisms in the online world, they clearly received them in unequal amounts. While both did got ridiculed to some extent, Heard ended up receiving the worst end of the stick. Depp supporters went all in against the Aquaman actor with various memes and tweets insulting her. A lot of them were seemingly a product of misogynistic and sexist views.
Following the trial, fans of the actress are calling out the way she was treated without any consideration especially compared to Depp. Some are even questioning the progress in how society views women in the modern world. But all in all, it is impossible to not have any idea about the case due to its publicity.
Amber Heard Fans are Questioning the Hate She Received
Anyone with a sensible mind can see who received the worst judgments in the defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. The Aquaman actor was hugely trolled in the online world. And she even ended up becoming a meme for all the bad reasons. Although both of them got the taste of being ridiculed and disrespected however Heard undeniably received it much more compared to her ex-husband. Now that the trial is over, her fans are calling out the criticisms and hate she received in such an unjust manner. Recently Twitter useres questioned the progress of women in society in regard to the harsh criticisms that she faced.
Without any doubt, they were definitely a result of the existing misogynistic and sexist views against women in society. The Edward Scissorhands actor’s supporters definitely stretched it with the negativity in Heard’s case. One recent tweet called women’s progress a ” complete bull****” looking back at how the Aquaman actor was treated,

Many have since agreed with it and are calling out the unfair treatment by the haters and trolls. Another responded with

In agreement with this one tweeted back,
agreed that broke my heart. society has lost its grip on reality.

Lots of similar tweets came out since then,
Unfortunately I gotta agree. Sickening to see such a depraved cycle of mutual abuse turned into an utterly simplified “she bad he good” just because he’s famous and loved.

Regardless of who did what, it can be quite readily agreed that out of the two, Heard really did receive much more hate. Depp’s fans went all out against her in terms of undeserved hate and judgments.
Amber Heard Called Out The Unfair Amount of Hate
At the end of the defamation trial, Johnny Depp was awarded 10.35 million dollars for damages. And Amber Heard was also awarded 2 million dollars in damages in a counter-claim that she filed. However, she dropped her appeal against Depp and settled the trial there and then for $1 Million. According to the Magic Mike XXL star, she does not want to go through another court case only for it to become publicity fodder.
But even though the case was highly publicized and therefore open to criticisms and judgments by almost anyone, it was definitely not fair. Especially Heard who got such a huge amount of hate that it got compared with the witch trials of the past times. The actress herself called out the way in which she was ridiculed all over the internet. In an interview with NBC, she said,
“you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation”
She also mentioned that the judgments about the case were not a problem but an unfair representation of her in the media.
