In episode 3, we all saw Rhaenyra talking to Alicent about her father’s last words and how Alicent showed her stubbornness and refused her peacekeeping offers. But the episode also made fans wonder if Alicent knew about the ‘Song of Ice and Fire’. According to the recent episode analysis done by the New York Times, Alicent does not know about the prophecy and only pays attention to two words spoken by her husband on his deathbed. She believed what she wanted to believe to make her son rule the throne.

This also depicts that if Alicent knows, then Aegon can also know, or she could have told the plotters, and as a result, the prophecy would hold no value. All these elements make the series even more interesting. It looks like we have to watch the upcoming episode to find out!
