Rihanna is drunk in love and fans can’t help but admire just how smitten she is with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple was confirmed to be dating back in 2021. Since then, they have made many public appearances together and have also welcomed two children. Rocky might be yet to put a ring on the Barbadian songstress’ finger, but they could not be more in love.
The couple has also gone through some downtime due to Rocky’s legal struggles in recent years. This is not the first time he has had a brush with the law. He also got into legal trouble back in 2019. At the time, Donald Trump was the President of the U.S., and he actively advocated for the rapper’s release from prison in Sweden. This connection certainly does not look good for the couple’s reputation at the moment.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Have a Connection with Donald Trump and It Might Not Be the Best Look on the Couple
The two singers have known each other professionally for a long time even though might have fallen in love sometime in the 2020s. They are basically professional collaborators turned lovers, a love story straight from the fairy tales.
However, the couple might be looking at a new hurdle as Rocky’s connection with Donald Trump is resurfacing before the U.S. presidential elections. In 2019, the rapper was arrested in Sweden after a street fight, and Trump got personally involved to get him out of prison.
At the time, the Justice Minister of Sweden, Morgan Johansson reportedly told a local publication, Dagens Nyheter. that Trump threatened to wage trade restrictions against the country.
If you can try and do something like this against Sweden, what will you then try and do to slightly weaker countries that don’t have the European Union behind them?
At the time, according to Billboard, Trump even called the Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Lofven, to offer his guarantee for Rocky’s bail. He also made some tweets in favor of the rapper as he took a hit at Prime Minister Lofven for how he was managing the situation, and also when Rocky was released from prison.
Even considering Trump is quite fond of some celebrities, it seems a little odd that he would go out of his way to negotiate Rocky’s bail with a foreign country. That said, now that so many celebrities are endorsing Kamala Harris, Trump’s opponent in the U.S. presidential race, this certainly does not look good for Rihanna and her beau.
A$AP Rocky is Not the First Celebrity Rihanna Has Dated
Rihanna has been in quite some high-profile relationships. She was in a relationship with Chris Martin but had to part ways with him in early 2009 after their highly publicized domestic violence case. In January 2013, the songstress claimed that they had rekindled their relationship, but broke up once again later that year.
Then, she had an on-again and off-again relationship with Drake from late 2009 to 2016. This is perhaps one of her most publicized relationships as the Find Your Love singer kept expressing his interest in dating her over the years even after their breakup. The Umbrella singer also dated a Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel for three years before she got into a relationship with A$AP Rocky.
