Conan O’Brien began his career in the entertainment industry as a writer. After graduating from Harvard University in 1985, he joined the writing staff of the HBO sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News. By 1988, he was a writer on the popular late-night live sketch comedy Saturday Night Live.

Post David Letterman’s departure as the host of the talk show Late Night, O’Brien, although initially considered for a producer’s role, was appointed as the new host. The show aired for 16 seasons with over 2500 episodes. Then, he took over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno. However, that did not last long and in 2010, he started the talk show Conan.

Conan aired for 11 seasons, and many guests appeared on the show through the years. In one of the episodes, 2 Broke Girls castmates Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs appeared on the show and were engaged in a heated discussion about their favorite childhood shows while O’Brien was staring at the camera with a poker face.

Then, Behrs referred to the host as “he” which led to him losing his cool and emphasizing that his name is Conan, which is literally written on the mugs. As if this much chaos was not enough, Behrs then accidentally ended up touching Dennings’ chest and admitted it, which led to another hilarious comeback of “Roll that back!” from the host who had missed the moment.

O’Brien yelling “Roll it back!” actually had the production team rolling the scene back for everyone to see it in slo-mo. The host then got off his seat and triumphantly claimed that it was a “sick world” where he controlled everything. He certainly saved Behrs from further embarrassment with his mirthful demand.

2 Broke Girls might have been a popular show, but it also attracted a fair amount of criticism for some of its controversial elements. Even so, the show kept going until it could not anymore, but Dennings was more than ready to go by the time it ended.

Playing the charismatic and sharp-witted waitress Max in the hit CBS sitcom undoubtedly made her famous. However, Dennings had gotten sick of the character as she revealed in an interview with the LA Times:

By the end, I just wanted to burn that waitress uniform. Not that there’s anything wrong with the show. I’m very proud of it. But going forward, I needed to do something that was the polar opposite. I would have played a reanimated corpse if I could.

The actress has also appeared as Darcy Lewis in MCU’s Thor film series and even portrayed the lead character in the 2019 Hulu comedy series Dollface.
