Rosario Dawson’s Brad Pitt fantasy came true
Brad Pitt is a popular figure in the industry and has been part of various successful films. There is no doubt people are inspired by his role in the films. Rosario Dawson was one such person who had a fantasy of being like Pitt. The actress revealed her dream came true after she impressed Quentin Tarantino and starred in his 2007 film.
The 44-year-old was part of the 2007 feature Death Proof. She discovered a connection between Death Proof and a previous Brad Pitt film during filming, which allowed her to fulfill a long-held fantasy.
The film saw Kurt Russell portrayed a serial killer in Death Proof who used his car to slaughter his unwitting victims. For one of the numerous ladies Russell’s character would pursue, Dawson was chosen for an audition. However, she failed to impress the filmmaker during her first audition. She revealed,
“I auditioned for Quentin with Robert there, and it was really fun. He was really into it, but afterward he continued looking, and I was really disappointed by that, because I really wanted to work with him, and just the idea of not having impressed him enough was crazy to me.”
The Ahsoka star was determined to be part of Death Proof and went to audition for the second time. The second time, she auditioned with Tracie Thoms, and the duo succeeded in winning Tarantino over.
Dawson revealed she was drawn to the movie because of her character. Like most of the women in the film, she found herself portraying a fierce fighter. It made the actress think of a much earlier Pitt movie when the actor got to fulfill an old fantasy. She said,
“I remember watching Fight Club and coming out wanting to be Brad Pitt – and to watch this movie and feel that same exact feeling coming from the women is really, really cool.”
Death Proof is a typical horror feature that traces the story of an aging stuntman using his souped-up stunt car to kill women on the open road. His plan works for several years until he meets a group of girls who are all set to fight back.
