Ryan Reynolds Promises to “completely sidestep” Marvel’s One Important Rule as He Claims Deadpool and Wolverine Will “lower your IQ and raise your heart rate”
Marvel fans can’t wait as Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are going to bring chaos as they bring Deadpool & Wolverine to the movie theaters. The marketing for Deadpool’s debut in MCU has been getting a lot of hype for a while now, boosted by the comedy and chemistry between the two leads.
The demand for tickets to attend the movie is higher than ever as they go on sale. Reynolds and Jackman have successfully utilized their chemistry in the promotion of the movie. At the same time, the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer is full of surprising secrets, and the most shocking reveal is a QR code that opens up a new video that promises to make the movie experience quite different.
Ryan Reynolds Gives a Disclaimer for Deadpool & Wolverine
As Deadpool & Wolverine is supposed to be included in the main storyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has become much grander now. Marvel fans have become used to the studio’s tradition of post-credits sequences that tease future movies and plots. But this time around, the rules of the game are being changed.
Viewers have spotted a QR code in the latest teaser of Deadpool & Wolverine and it is linked to an unlisted YouTube video of Ryan Reynolds named “Disclaimers“. In the video, Reynolds puns and sarcastically tells the viewers that Deadpool & Wolverine will be a thin film with a shallow plot, random violence, and a lot of stupidity. He says,
Many of you are very excited. But we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper-thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few d*ck jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, and make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense.
Talking about the absence of post-credit scenes, he continued,
..Make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense, and completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credits sequence, which if you haven’t figured it out yet, is always just a commercial for another movie which will invariably end with a commercial for another movie. So sit back, relax, let us lower your IQ and raise your heart rate while we travel to a vapid Dreamland..
This disclaimer of not having a post-credit scene will break the tradition of MCU movies. However, as fans are aware of Reynold’s sarcasm and humor, this can also be a clever marketing strategy to build hype using reverse psychology, especially after knowing that Deadpool’s creator has something else to say.
Deadpool’s Creator Rob Liefeld Seemingly Confirms Post-Credit Scene in Deadpool & Wolverine
Although Reynold’s disclaimer promises to break the MCU convention, Rob Liefeld seemingly confirmed a post-credit scene months ago. Liefeld seemed to have confirmed the easter egg while interacting with fans online, describing it as an unexpected event that was kept hidden from the audience.
He’s ain’t lying to you!

If insider MyTimeToShineHello and Liefeld’s words are to be believed, then the post-credit scene won’t be a usual commercial for the next MCU movies, as said by Reynolds. It will be something that nobody is expecting. As Deadpool is an important character in Secret Wars comics, there are chances that the scene could lead us to Avengers: Secret Wars, which is slated for 2027.
Moreover, there are many fan theories that have been demanding and suggesting the return of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in the MCU following Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as a cameo by Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. If the rumors are true, then the post-credit scene of Deadpool 3 can be anything at this point.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
