Ronan was unsatisfied with this until her mother came to the rescue. When the actress complained to her mother that it’s not possible to do her job without having enough lines to speak, the latter spilled some great words of wisdom. Her mother explained to her that one can tell a story with their face and eyes, as much as with their words.
This advice stayed in Ronan’s psyche and while playing her role in The Outrun, she embraced it completely. She absolutely nailed her role as Rona, a dramatized version of Amy Liptrot, in the movie, and a huge amount of credit goes to her mother’s words.
