Scarlett Johansson is going to play the role of a producer as well as an actress in her upcoming movie alongside Channing Tatum. After his breakthrough in 2006 with the dance film Step Up, Tatum has never looked back again and has given wonderful movies like The Lost City, 21 Jump Street, and White House Down.
Although the actors seem to enjoy each other’s company on the set, there’s something else that kept running in the mind of Johansson, which encouraged her to have second thoughts about producing the movie.
The 39-year-old actress never expected that shooting could be so costly. She revealed to Collider Interviews
I would say the most surprising thing for me was how expensive it is to shoot in California. I was like oh, it’s like impossible to shoot in California.
Johansson’s only relief was when she went to shoot in Atlanta as she has been there several times before to shoot for MCU and hence is acquainted with the area. But for real, the sticker price of shooting in California came out as a shocker to her.
What Is Fly Me To The Moon All About?
Directed by Greg Berlanti, Fly Me To The Moon is going to be released on July 5, 2024. The romance-comedy will show Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson sharing the same screen with Chris Evans, Woody Harrelson, and Ray Romano among others.
The film has a production budget of $100 million (via The Numbers) and its plot revolves around the relationship of a marketing specialist and a NASA director during the 1960s Space Race.
The lead actors of the movie, Tatum and Johansson, also revealed a few other surprising things. Apart from how expensive it is to shoot in California, Johansson also joked about how her co-star can be a little difficult at times.
Tatum, as mentioned by the interviewer, is prone to not remembering his dialogues properly about which everyone had a wholesome laugh.
The part two is what do you do when your lead actor won’t come out of his trailer or learn his lines.
Apart from that, everything about the movie till now looks absolutely fantastic and the entire team is hoping for a favorable result after the release.
Fly Me to the Moon is scheduled to take off at the theaters on July 12.
