Shakira Reportedly Broke Down After Failing To Show Up For Negotiating Custody Deal With Gerard Pique As Judge Tried To Open Tax Fraud Trial Of 14.5M Euros
After several meetings, Colombian singer Shakira and footballer Gerard Pique decided to have one last meeting to finally decide who gets custody of their children, Sasha and Milan. However, the Colombian singer failed to show up as she was busy at the court as the judge confirmed that she will have to face trial in her tax fraud case. The ex-couple ended their relationship in June and is yet to reach a conclusion over the custody of their children. The last time they met to take a decision, Shakira demanded more control over her kids and this made the footballer angry as he stood up and left the meeting.
Shakira is accused of committing tax fraud
Singer Shakira was supposed to meet her ex-partner Gerard Pique and his lawyers. However, just a few hours before the meeting, the judge in charge of Examining Court number 2 in Esplugues de Llobregat ordered the opening of the trial for alleged tax fraud amounting to 14.5 million euros. Shakira faces eight years and two months in prison and a fine of 23.8 million euros. However, the singer still claims that she is innocent.
Shakira missed the meeting
The singer was summoned as her tax fraud case was in full swing and that is why she couldn’t get time to attend the meeting with Gerard Pique. Sources say Gerard Pique met Shakira’s lawyers and reached a conclusion. When the singer found out about the meeting, she looked very distressed. Shakira reportedly wants to move to Miami with her kids while Gerard Pique wants them to live with him in Barcelona.
Gerard Pique and Shakira’s relationship came to an end in June
In June, Shakira and Gerard Pique left their fans shocked as they announced that they are ending their relationship for good. The two started dating in 2010 and share two kids, Sasha and Milan. The singer recently said she had to sacrifice her career and live in Barcelona as Gerard Pique couldn’t move to the United States because of his commitment to his football club. After the split, Gerard Pique’s infidelity came into the limelight. Apparently, the footballer has been dating a woman named Clara Chia Marti for more than a year now.
