“She is making an effort to see her kids more”: Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Make Efforts to Bond with Sons Preston and Jayden Federline
Britney Spears’ life can not be called any less than a tragedy. The Gimme More singer has gone through hell over the course of the last one and a half decades; be it losing control over her life to losing control over her sons’ lives, she has faced it all. But the dark phase of her life seems to have run its course. The much-publicized Britney Spears saga has come to an end. But the scars of her wound are still afresh. That hasn’t stopped the Baby One More Time singer from making amends.
Not your traditional father
All hell broke loose for Britney Spears in the 2000s. She split up from her husband of 3 years, Kevin Federline, in 2007. Within the span of a year, her life grew more problematic, as she not only lost custody of her kids after a judge made Federline the sole custody holder, but she also came under her father’s conservatorship.
The much-maligned decision, akin to a contemporary ‘reign of terror’ for the 41-year-old, was a hot topic for years. Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, took all her major life decisions for her. One would not be mistaken to presume that it hampered her personal development to a great degree.
Britney Spears still reeling from the effect of her conservatorship
The reign is over though. After 13 years of dismay, discontent, and a never-ending fan-waged protest, Jamie Spears’ conservatorship over his daughter came to an end in 2021. The decision was welcomed by the Oops… I Did It Again singer’s fans.
It was a day to be remembered. But the scars left by the 13 years long conservatorship were still to be felt by Spears. There were casualties; the gravest being her relationship with her kids. Ever since the split, she had grown distant from her sons, Jayden James, and Sean Preston Federline.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are looking to mend broken relationships
Britney Spears couldn’t be as involved in her kids’ lives during her conservatorship. But she is adamant to change that. She and hubby Sam Asghari are seeing to that. A source told People Magazine,
“[She is] making an effort to see her kids more, and Sam is also bonding with them.”
The source added that the end of the conservatorship had definitely “made it easier” for them to bond. Her sons are wary of her, valuing the privacy they enjoy at the moment. They have grown away from the limelight, and are looking to keep it that way.
Building back bridges will take time.
