Katy Perry has been facing criticism for quite some time now after fans learned that she is working with the music producer Dr. Luke. As an artist, she is free to work with whomever she wishes to. However, working with Dr. Luke might not have been the best choice considering that the award-winning music producer was involved in a decade-long lawsuit with popstar Kesha.

The lawsuit was settled last year and it would not have been as concerning if it was not for the fact that Kesha had accused the producer of s*xual abuse and mental torture. Despite this, Perry did not seem to have any qualms about working with him and has even expressed her feelings regarding the whole ordeal.

However, things took a wrong turn when people discovered that she was collaborating with Dr. Luke. In 2014, Kesha had accused the producer of drugging and s*xually abusing her in 2005. The producer denied any such claims. It was not until last year that they settled (via The Associated Press).

During her recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, when asked about her decision to work with him, she said (via Deadline):

The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that.

Perry has worked with him on several of her hit songs such as one of her breakthrough hits I Kissed a Girl, California Gurls and Teenage Dream. Even so, doing it again in light of the current situation does not seem like a wise decision.

It has to be noted that Perry did not mention the producer by his name during the interview or address the allegations against him.
