Lauren Bacall is one of the most incredibly talented and gorgeous actresses of the 1950s who rose to stardom in the 1940s after her debut in the film To Have and Have Not (1944), where she starred alongside Humphrey Bogart, whom she would later marry. She was born on September 16, 1924, and passed away on August 12, 2014, and Bacall’s legacy continues to be celebrated, and she is remembered as one of Hollywood’s most talented and alluring actresses of her time.

In her autobiography, Bacall wrote about co-stars Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable in a movie named How to Marry a Millionaire where she expressed how Monroe was tough to work with and wrote:

‘She came into my dressing room one day and said that what she really wanted was to be in San Francisco with Joe DiMaggio in some spaghetti joint,’ Bacall wrote later. ‘They were not married then. She wanted to know about my children, my home life – was I happy? She seemed envious of that aspect of my life – wistful – hoping to have it herself one day.’

‘There was something sad about her – wanting to reach out – afraid to trust – uncomfortable,’ Bacall observed. ‘She made no effort for others and yet she was nice. I think she did trust me and like me as well as she could anyone whose life must have seemed to her so secure, so solved.

Though it was tough working with her co-star, they made a really fun movie.

Marilyn Monroe was an incredibly gorgeous and talented actress. She was not only known for her beauty and iconic blonde hair but also for her captivating on and off-screen presence and acting abilities. Monroe achieved fame and success in Hollywood during the 1950s, but her personal life continued to be tumultuous and was married three times and experienced three divorces in her lifetime, she also struggled with mental health, including anxiety and depression, throughout her life. Monroe sought therapy and treatment, but her struggles persisted. Unfortunately on August 5, 1962, Marilyn Monroe passed away at the age of 36 due to a drug overdose. Her death was ruled as a probable suicide, although it remains a subject of speculation and controversy to this day.
