“She takes her sweater off”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Was Shocked After Seeing James Cameron’s Terminator Co-star’s Body
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a versatile individual. The five-time former Mr. Universe is an exemplary figure in the world of bodybuilding. Known for his muscular appearance, the actor is often considered the best bodybuilder of all time.
A master of his craft, Schwarzenegger was not prepared for his Terminator co-star to sport fabric-hugging, impressive biceps.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Surprised by Co-Stars Muscles
Arnold Schwarzenegger spends way too much time in the gym to not know the wonders human muscles behold. Working so much on his body is what gave him the sculpted appearance that helped him win the title of Mr. Universe after all. However, the Jurassic Park actor was still surprised to see his Terminator co-star Linda Hamilton in a bodybuilder-type appearance.
Earlier this year, the former California governor released a Netflix docuseries, titled Arnold covering his journey as one of the most recognizable faces in the world of entertainment. It contains conversations and stories from various parts of Schwarzenegger’s career.
In one of the episodes, Arnold shows the actor recounting a particular instance from the sets of James Cameron‘s Terminator, that he was taken aback by Hamilton’s muscular development since the last time he saw her. He said (via Entertainment Weekly):
“A few days before we start shooting [director] Jim Cameron says to me, let’s all get together and have a nice dinner,” the actor recalls. Linda comes in and then she takes her sweater off and I’m looking at her arms. Veins on the biceps and then the triceps — everything was like a bodybuilder except miniature. I said, ‘I cant believe that son of a bitch is f—ing more cut than me.'”
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton’s Friendship
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton have been good friends for a little over three decades, which is why their chemistry on camera is off the charts. In a classic friend manner, Schwarzenegger kept his admiration for his friend’s buffed appearance.
Hamilton, on the other hand, was extremely excited to get the praise from Schwarzenegger, she was sure she would receive. As she said in the biographical docuseries (via Entertainment Weekly):
“I do remember the fierce pride I had to show to Arnold,”
And she did receive praise from her bodybuilder co-star. Schwarzenegger did not say anything when he first noticed Hamilton’s transformation. But as the actress said, Schwarzenegger didn’t show how impressed he was at first but “when he saw how strong I was, he was thrilled”.
Impressed by Hamilton’s strength, Schwarzenegger even taught her how to pose properly to flex her muscles more prominently.
