“She was this seductive woman who had an affair”: Gal Gadot is Passionate to Bring a Change With Her Next Character That Is Even Stronger Than Wonder Woman
No other comes to mind except for Gal Gadot when one hears the name Wonder Woman. The Israeli actress has successfully portrayed the DCEU character in all of the film projects she has appeared in. Alongside, the actress has been preparing for an upcoming project for Netflix titled Heart of Stone. While discussing it, Gadot opened up about another of her future projects which is going to be based on the historical figure, Queen Cleopatra.
She recently detailed why she wants to bring the character into the spotlight once again. The actress mentioned that her primary objective was to focus more on the Egyptian ruler’s Wonder Woman-like characteristics.
According to the Justice League star, all the previous works that the character appeared in did not justify who Cleopatra really was. That alone seems to have made the actress decide to fully understand and learn about the ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt.
Gal Gadot’s Plan to Change the Narrative Surrounding Cleopatra
As far as anyone is concerned, in most of the films that recount the story of Cleopatra, the focus is mostly on her physical characteristics, of being a seductress. But Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is planning to change this narrative soon as she recently revealed her upcoming project based on the historical figure.

While preparing for her upcoming Netflix project Heart of Stone, she opened up about her Cleopatra project which was first reported back in 2020. The actress recently revealed her plan to bring the Egyptian ruler into the spotlight once again but she wants to focus more on the strong force that Cleopatra was. Instead of other media portrayals, where according to Gadot,
“All I ever saw in regards to Cleopatra from the m film was that she was this seductive woman who had an affair with Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony.”
Further, she mentioned that the DC character of Wonder Woman which she portrayed is “fictional” as far as anyone is concerned. However, Cleopatra was a true real-life Wonder Woman according to Gadot.
The actress also shared that she read a lot about Egypt’s Ptolemaic dynasty’s last ruler. And according to Deadline, the upcoming project will be a collaboration between Gadot and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.
