Kim Kardashian Buys Princess Diana’s Amethyst And Diamond Cross Necklace
After trying on Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress, Kim Kardashian has become the new owner of an iconic piece of jewelry. The socialite recently bought the purple amethyst and diamond cross necklace of the late Princess of Wales. She bought it at an auction held by Sotheby auction house.
The Kardashians star purchased the necklace for $197,453 on January 18, 2023. A source close to the SKIMS founder has shared that she is “honored” to own the piece of jewelry that was once worn by Princess Diana herself. According to Daily Mail, an insider has said,
“This beautiful cross pendant will be added to her growing collection of jewelry, all pieces that have been worn by strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.”
The pendant was made by Garrard jewelry company in 1920 and it loaned the necklace to Princess Diana for the event. Reports also claimed that the necklace was never worn by anyone other than Princess Diana. She wore the necklace with a black and burgundy velvet gown for a charity event in 1987.

Kim Kardashian added one more iconic piece to her celebrity memorabilia by purchasing Princess Diana’s necklace. She has Elizabeth Taylor’s bangles, which she bought for $65,000 in 2011, and Jackie O’s watch, which she bought for $379,500 in 2017.

However, people do not seem so supportive of the socialite’s interest in these iconic pieces. They started calling her out, saying that she needs to stop buying famous celebrities’ items.
Social media users called her a “culture vulture” and said that she ruined Marilyn Monroe’s dress. They also said that the SKIMS founder would never be as influential as Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe. People also mocked Kim Kardashian by sharing memes on social media.
