Jonathan Majors had a shining career in Hollywood ahead of him before his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari filed a lawsuit against him for domestic violence. His name could have easily been among the A-list stars in the industry if it had not been for the lawsuit that literally destroyed his reputation and pulled the brakes on his career a little too harshly.

The most important role of his career was probably Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had already appeared as the character in two movies and was going to have a much bigger role in an Avengers film, but fate seemed to have other plans for him. The lawsuit led to Marvel Studios cutting ties with him completely. However, now that the lawsuit has been dropped, fans wonder if his return as Kang is possible.

In March 2024, Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari sued him for defamation, assault, and battery. However, Variety has recently reported that Jabbari dropped the lawsuit with prejudice. Even so, this is not going to immediately redeem his career because the repercussions of his arrest and subsequent conviction were rather huge. He was dropped by both his PR and management firms weeks after he was arrested.

Majors began professionally acting in 2017 and two years later, he gained recognition for his lead role in The Last Black Man in San Francisco. In 2020, he received more attention with his roles in the Netflix movie Da 5 Bloods and the HBO show Lovecraft Country.

The next couple of years were just as good for him as he starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in the sports drama, Creed III. Besides this, he was also cast as Kang the Conquerer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his first appearance as the character was in the Disney+ show, Loki Season 1.

Majors also played the role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki Season 2. He was all set to play the role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, but the studio dropped him following his conviction of assault and harassment in late 2023 (via The Hollywood Reporter). Now that the lawsuit Jabbari filed has been dropped, fans are wondering if Marvel Studios will get the actor back on board as Kang.

Marvel reworked Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to Avengers: Doomsday in which Robert Downey Jr. will be starring as Doctor Doom. Despite cutting ties with Majors post his conviction, the studio has not recast Kang yet.

Since he was very good at it, fans are very eager to know if he can return as the character and some have even outright demanded it. Here is what some of them have to say:

Even with Marvel bringing in villains like Galactus and Doctor Doom into the picture, Kang is still very much a potential villain that the franchise will bring in sooner or later. So, while Majors’ return is not completely out of the question, it might not happen any time soon considering the amount of damage done to his reputation.
