- Despite a promising acting career, Veal’s personal and mental health struggles have seemingly impacted his career trajectory.
The world of entertainment is as unforgiving and demanding as it is glamorous and giving. What might look like a glamorous life from the outside could end up completely opposite in reality. It looks like Jack Veal has been going through a similar situation lately.
Veal who is best known for playing Kid Loki in Marvel’s Disney+ show Loki is currently 17 years old. The young actor who once held the possibility of a bright future is currently suffering from homelessness and several other mental health issues.
Jack Veal Seeks Help Amid Homelessness
Jack Veal has been one of the most promising prospects among the young cast of Marvel. He was only around 14 when he first appeared as Kid Loki in the first season of Loki. The young actor had previously worked in some shows and films as well.
It has been 3 years since that happened, and one might assume that Veal’s life would have changed for good. However, the reality hits differently. In a recent TikTok video shared by the young actor, viewers got to see the harsh conditions he is currently living in.
In the video, Veal says, “Hi, I am a famous actor, I’m 17, and I’m homeless.” Talking about the struggles he faced and continues to face in his personal and family life, he said,
I haven’t mentioned much about what’s going on with my life, but I feel it is time to reveal the truth. Not delving too much into the details, I was abused at home, there was physical violence, emotional abuse, and etc. I didn’t have a very good upbringing.

Veal continued to talk about his mental illness, revealing that he suffers from autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. He also mentions that his grandad is unwell and that he can’t stay with them. Explaining his efforts and urging for help, he says,
Social services refuses to help me despite what I’ve told them. I am desperate. I’ve been sleeping in the streets. I’m currently sleeping in a trailer that has smashed in windows, is unsafe, and is 2 hours away from my work. It’s been a struggle to get to my work every day..
Life is hard. At the moment I’ve nothing else. I am on my knees begging for you guys to just share this, do something, spread the message of how the government is treating kids.
Veal further gave a glimpse of his trailer, where he showed his backpack containing his clothes, a polythene bag for his toiletries, other essential stuff, and snacks, and a power bank for his devices, as there is no facility for electricity.
Jack Veal’s Career and Personal Struggles
Jack Veal was born in London, England. Before appearing in Loki, he worked in several other TV shows and films. He first appeared on screen in 2017 on Amazon Prime Video’s Tin Star and later worked on several other shows like The End of the F***ing World, and Call the Midwife.
His first movie appearance was in My Name Is Lenny followed by The Favourite, The Corrupted, Come Away and in a short film named His Name Was Gerry. However, after Loki, Veal is seen only once on-screen in one episode of Prime Video’s The Peripheral.
Judging by this stat, it seems like Veal’s acting career has seen a decline since Loki. Moreover, the young actor has also been suffering from family issues and mental health struggles since his early days. In an earlier interview with Revamp magazine, he said, “I am very disorganized. I am not proud of that, but I do try my best to balance between acting and revision.”
He further added,
I usually have a calendar set up on my computer to remind me of what to do and when to do it as I can be a bit of a scatterbrain.
Although Veal didn’t directly confirm his mental struggles in those statements, his words seemingly gave subtle hints of a person with ADHD, and it can heavily impact someone’s career, especially if it’s just beginning. Hopefully, Jack Veal’s life will get better from this crisis as his fans and followers have already taken notice of his situation.
