Sony’s Madame Web Expands Cast With Dora the Explorer Star

Sony Entertainment has a lot on the list for the year. Spider-Man is an important part of Sony’s Entertainment running for almost 20 years. It has always been introducing new characters from the Marvel Comics. Since with new characters, comes new cast, Sony Pictures has welcomed a member to the family through Madame Web.

Isabela Merced has been chosen for the role of Sony Pictures’ Madame Web. Merced in popular for her role, Dora in Dora The Explorer. She would be accompanied by the Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney. Merced and Johnson will be working on a very titular role while Sweeney’s character is yet unknown. Fan theories play a large role in making a hypothesis. A common fan theory suggests that Sweeney’s character could be playing Gwen Stacey, probably Spider Gwen.

About Madame Web

This film would be directed by S.J. Clarkson. The main character is a clairvoyant and is connected to the Spidy-Verse. She posses psychic abilities which allow her to see within through the spider-verse. In Marvel Comics, Madame Web is an elderly woman who has a chronic autoimmune disorder that requires her to connect to a life support system resembling a spider web.

Tom Rothman, the chairman of Son, revealed that the film of the project would start very soon. The film’s script has been written and claims a release on July 7, 2023. Details about the revealed characters is still kept very confidential and to our suspense. But all we know for certain is, Sony Pictures is going to portray females in the lead, as talented as Johnson, Sweeney and Merced and would hopefully engage the youthful.
