Steven Tyler Claims His S*xual Relationship With 16-Year-Old Was Consensual, Denies Assault Allegations
The Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler was very recently accused of s*xually assaulting a minor in 1973. The lead singer has now denied all the claims made by Plaintiff. The incident involving the two is a bit tricky and the court has not even reached its Verdict yet. Julia Misley filed a lawsuit against the famous singer in the month of December of the previous year. The lawsuit claimed she was assaulted and then forced to abort the child as a result of it.
Tyler outright denied the statements filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and claimed the relationship between the two to be consensual. Here is everything that is known so far about the situation.
The lawsuit against Steven Tyler
The lawsuit was filed against Steven Tyler in December to the LA court by Julia Misley previously known as Jilia Holcomb. According to the lawsuit, the Aerosmith lead singer, 25 at the time allegedly pursued Misley who was 16 at the time, and continued till she succumbed to his ‘pressure’. The two were allegedly in a relationship just after three months after meeting each other at a Portland concert. It was also further stated that when the accuser became pregnant with his child, she was forced to get an abortion. The document said,
performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff that night,”
It also said,
“persuaded Plaintiff into believing this was a ‘romantic love affair,’”
In 1974, after making “various promises and inducements” to Misley’s mother he became her legal guardian. He also allegedly promised Misley a life she dreamed about with proper basic amenities but failed. According to the claim made by Misley,
“did not meaningfully follow through on these promises and instead continued to travel with, assault and provide alcohol and drugs to”
This eventually ended in a very heartbreaking way for the Plaintiff. But opened her eyes, as she,
“returned to Portland and over the years rebuilt her life, obtained a GED, attended college, and became active in her Christian faith. She met her husband, became married and started a family, repairing her soul through faith and family,”
Although Julia Misley has moved on with her life she wants to punish the leader of the Aerosmith for allegedly taking away some vital years of her life from her.
Steven Tyler denies the allegations
In response to such serious allegations against him, the representatives representing the celebrity said,
“[he]denies, generally and specifically, each and every allegation and cause of action”
He then further claimed he had immunity over the Plaintiff as he was her legal guardian during the said crimes took place. But that does not mean, the heinous nature of the crime spoken about changes even for a bit. The singer also claims,
“has not suffered any injury or damage as a result of any action by Defendant.”
The lawyers representing Misley further doubled down on him by putting out a statement saying,
“Tyler’s statement is more than a weak attempt to shift blame—it is a real and dangerous public safety threat to any vulnerable child who is currently in any kind of legal guardianship,—Assuming care for a child—whether that child is 16 months or 16 years—does not and has never implied any type of consent to sexually abuse that child. To say any different is morally and legally repugnant.”
According to Tyler, the events between them were mutually accepted, suggesting that the claims being made against him are based on past bias due to a failed relationship.
