Superman & Lois Gets Renewed By CW For Third Season
Superman & Lois will be returning to The CW for newer adventures in a third season. Fans of Superman will be surely delighted to know that Superman & Lois will be making a return for a newly renewed season at The CW. This announcement comes shortly after a few other renewals as the network has started its preparation for the 2022-2023 season.
Superman & Lois gets a season 3 renewal by The CW
Since its inception, Superman & Lois has been quite a success for the CW with many DC fans praising the new version of the iconic DC superhero, with many critics coming forward to appreciate the optimism and sincerity shown by the series until now. Moreover, given CW’s commitment to its ‘Arrowverse’ shows, this renewal should not come as a surprise to many fans.
Superman & Lois gives fans a more grounded look at the Man of Steel, with more focus on his family life with Lois Lane, the famed reporter, and their children. The first season successfully manages to take this home as it shows us the return of the family to Smallville. However, their new lives are now interrupted by the debut of The Stranger, followed by the evil schemes of Morgan Edge. The second season of the series took some bolder steps in its unique storytelling with the debut of Bizarro and the Inverse Method cult. However, the second season made its valiant efforts to not lose its grounded approach in sharing the stories of the characters. While more story details of the forthcoming season haven’t been released yet, it is still expected that the new season will continue on its tandem of humanizing the god-like superhero.
The CW continues on its interest in ‘The Arrowverse’ shows
The titular characters of the show are played by Tyler Hoechlin, taking on as Superman/Clark Kent, whereas Elizabeth Tulloch portrays Lois Lane. Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin are seen playing the couple’s sons–Jonathan and Jordan Kent. Emmanuelle Chriqui, Erik valdez, Wolé Parks, Inde Navarrette, Sofia Hasmik Tayler Buck, and Dylan Walsh round out the main cast of the series.
“As we prepare for the 2022-23 season, these scripted series, along with the alternative series we renewed earlier, will serve as the start of a solid foundation utilizing some of our most-watched series for us to build on for next year and beyond,” Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO of The CW Network said in a statement regarding the various renewals, which also includes the likes of The Flash and Walker. “These dramas are also important to our overall digital strategy, as they are some of our most-streamed and socially-engaged programming, and we look forward to adding more new and returning series to help strengthen and expand our multiplatform footprint.”
The CW Has Also Renewed The Flash Alongside Superman & Lois
However, Superman & Lois will not be the only DC-based series to get its renewal from The CW network, with The Flash also set to continue into its ninth season. CW has also renewed many of its other shows like Riverdale, All American, Nancy Drew, Kung Fu, and the reboot of the Walker for its 2022-2023 season.

No word yet on when Season 3 is expected to air. However, the first season debuted in February 2021, and the second season began airing in January 2022. If the third season also goes on in its path to follow this very trend, Superman & Lois will be most likely making a return to our TV screens in early 2023.
