Swifties are at it again. Taylor Swift’s latest album Midnights has given the fans enough fodder to do their deep digging for quite a while. And the toilers have dug up yet another Easter egg. Fans are speculating that the songstress has revealed the name of the fourth child that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are currently expecting.

If yes, then this won’t be the first time that one of the iconic couple’s kids’ names has been featured in a Taylor Swift song. The three are pretty close friends and “one thing’s for sure”, that is if Swift did disclose the name of the upcoming baby, then she took the parents’ permission and blessings in advance.

What’s in a name?

The song in question that has allegedly revealed the baby’s name is You’re On Your Own, Kid. The lyrics read,

“I see the great escape, so long, Daisy May

I picked the petals, he loves me not

Something different bloomed, writing in my room

I play my songs in the parking lot.”

It is visibly yet another one of the Delicate singer’s cryptic storytellings, and there is no possible way to decipher who the woman alluded to here could be. But fans couldn’t help but theorize that it somehow connects to the Deadpool actor and the Gossip Girl alum.

There is only one way to find out if the theories are up to any good and that is, of course, to wait for the celebrity couple to announce the name in due time.

Taylor Swift has previously name-dropped all of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ kids

Cheeky friendships

Previously, the Paper Rings singer has featured the names of all the Lively-Reynolds progenies in her songs. The girls, James, Inez, and Betty, have been the names of prominent characters featured in Swift’s 2020 album Folklore. Taylor Swift went full Shakespeare in this album and created a teenage love triangle via the songs, Cardigan, August, and Betty – with three protagonists named after each of Reynolds and Lively’s daughters. In addition to this, their eldest daughter was actually a part of the 2017 song Gorgeous from the album Reputation. The song starts with a 3-year-old James saying “Gorgeous”.

Instead of minding the name-dropping of their kids, the witty couple thinks it to be an “honor” instead. Ryan Reynolds said during a 2021 interview on SiriusXM,

“The names are the names of our kids. We trust her implicitly. She’s very sensitive to any of that stuff. And obviously the song has nothing to do with our kids other than our kids’ names. But I mean, what an honor.

We thought it was pretty damn amazing. We still do. You know, I still walk down the street and shake my head thinking, ‘I can’t believe that happened.’”

The fact that the Red singer is an intricate part of the couple’s life is clear by the set of pictures that The Age of Adaline star shared recently to flaunt her baby bump and ward off the paparazzi. One of the pictures shows Lively and Swift all smiles, and hugging.

Blake Lively was also the director for the music video of Swift’s version of her old song, I Bet You Think About Me, which was released in November 2021.
