“That would’ve been a horrible way to die”: Jeremy Renner Wrote His Last Words for Family After Actor Believed He Wasn’t Going to Survive Near-Fatal Accident
A New Year is a new beginning. It is the chance to move over the sorrows of the past. It is imperative that the New Year begins on the right note for any person. But Jeremy Renner can’t say so. The beginning of 2023 was not very kind to him. The Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation star stared death in the eye when he was run over by a snowplow on 1st January while trying to get his nephew out of harm’s way. The accident was gruesome. With a lot of blood being spilled, the outlook seemed bleak for Renner on that fateful day. There were noises in the air that said it was over.

What those voices forgot is that Jeremy Renner is a soldier. He was ready for the fight that was coming his way. The Hawkeye star was not going to give up on himself. And here he is, standing tall after undergoing all the pain out there.
The journey wasn’t easy though. Renner opened up about the trying times in an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. He recounted that day in the interview, saying,
“If I was there, on my own, that would’ve been a horrible way to die. And surely, I would’ve. Surely. But I wasn’t alone — [I was with] my nephew. Sweet Alex. And the rest of the calvary came.”
He couldn’t be any more grateful for his presence.

On that fateful day, the Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters star was run over by the snowplow while trying to protect his nephew from being run over by the same. The 52-year-old found himself in a pool of blood following the accident. He was rushed to the hospital, but some people were afraid that it might have been too late for him.
Renner was one of them.
The Arrival star’s list of injuries was scary – 30 broken bones because of “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries”. His family members were scared beyond measure at seeing him in such a dire condition. His nephew told Sawyer in the interview, “And I ran up to him … you know, I didn’t think he was alive.”
Luckily for them, he was.

Renner is grateful for being given the chance to come back to the land of the living, as it did not seem a possibility to him at the time. The American Hustle star was convinced that this would be his end. An emotional Renner even wrote a note addressed to his family on his phone – the last message to his family.
In the end, the note wasn’t needed as after undergoing multiple surgeries, Renner recovered and is now in the pink of his health, something which seemed like a mission impossible for him.
