After suffering blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries while driving a snowplow, the Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol star was airlifted to the intensive care unit on January 1. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the California native was the only person involved in the incident.

Jeremy Renner was previously married to Sonni Pacheco, a Canadian model, and actress with whom he has a daughter, Ava Berlin Renner. After less than a year of marriage, the actor divorced his ex-wife in 2014. The couple filed for child custody, which included a number of shocking allegations made by Pacheco against him.

According to a source close to the situation, Renner’s ex-wife has been praying for his recovery since he was taken to the hospital on New Year’s Eve. In January, the actor announced that he had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home. A  source spills, the tragic incident has caused him to become close to Sonni Pacheco.

The source said,

“They are both extremely stubborn. But things have calmed down in recent months and of course, she was freaked out by Jeremy’s accident and is relieved to hear he’s doing better.”

According to the source, the Kill the Messenger actor Facetimes his daughter Ava on a daily basis.

“She’s aware her dad was hurt, but they’re sparing her the gritty details.”

Sonni Pacheco stated in court documents that her ex-husband Renner had left cocaine on the toilet counter where their daughter Ava could reach it. The actor has denied the allegations. According to his rep, his daughter Ava’s well-being has always been and continues to be his primary concern. The court will have to rule on this. The interview clip shows Jeremy Renner in the hospital with his family after the accident. The tragic incident occurred while the actor was plowing snow in his Lake Tahoe driveway. He had been attempting to prevent the snow-removal tractor from sliding and collapsing on his nephew when he was pulled under and crushed. The Mayor of Kingstown actor was then airlifted to a hospital and treated for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
