Badgley shared that there was one specific co-star who was more than just a friend to him. Blake Lively who played the role of Badgley’s onscreen girlfriend had real-life chemistry with the actor. Lively shared in an interview with Vanity Fair, “I remember there was one point where we were just afraid of how our personal lives overlapping our work life could be perceived by our bosses,”. Although later she found out the show-makers in fact wanted the stars to date in real life.
“(But then) we were like, ‘Oh no, that’s exactly what they want.’ They wanted us all to date. They wanted us all to wear the same clothes that we’re wearing on the show. They wanted that because then it fed their whole narrative. People could buy into this world.” Blake Lively reported.
Although Lively and Badgley tried keeping their relationship a secret while filming, it was purposefully brought out to the fans.
