Are Star Wars: The Acolyte’s Jedi Master Sol and Qimir long-lost brothers?
The Acolyte’s episode five recently premiered on Disney+, revealing that Qimir was played by Manny Jacinto as the mysterious Sith Lord. However, fans were curious to know how Qimir and Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae, knew each other. Sol was able to recognize that Sith seemed familiar, but he did not know why.
A Reddit user pointed out that the reason Sol was able to feel a familiarity with Sith Lord or Qimir is that they are long-lost brothers. They noted that Qimir in Arabic is called the Moon, while Sol is called the Sun. According to Games Radar, earlier in the series, when Jedi Master Sol reveals that he was just 4 when he was taken to be a Jedi, which makes him old enough to recognize Qimir through force but not enough to remember him. The user mentioned that if the theory is true,
The viewers will see Sol learning from Qimir that he’s his brother, right before his master shows up and destroys Qimir for potentially exposing him, which will set Sol on the final step toward the darkness as well as the metaphor. Sol will then become the first Ren to honor his brother and spurn the Sith, which is why the lightsaber, helm, and gauntlet became an intrinsic part of what makes a Ren, and he will see his brother’s dream fulfilled.
According to Escapist Magazine, Qimir knows more about Sol than any of the other characters on the show, pointing out that Qimir knows that Sol has a dark secret. The publication mentioned that the two of them don’t need to be brothers, but there is a high chance that they are somehow related to each other.
Another theory by an X user (@Choppenheimer) points out that it would be such a great parallel to Mae and Osha, adding that Sol was taken from his family at a very young age. This sent Qimir down a dark path, and later the two of them inflicted the same fate upon other siblings.
As much as the fans want to know if the theory is right or not, nothing can be said until the finale episode of the show, which still has two more episodes until season one comes to an end.
