Michael Oher claims The Blind Side was taken in a false narrative
NFL star Michael Oher has recently come up with the allegation that the movie’s narrative about his life is built upon falsehoods. He claims that the Tuohy family has never adopted him. He filed a legal petition, claiming that he was not legally adopted but rather coerced into a conservatorship that kept millions of dollars from him.
In the lawsuit, Oher sought the money that he claimed to have received from The Blind Side and an injunction barring Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy from consummating in his name. Sean Tuohy and his wife denounced his claim and responded, “It’s upsetting to think we would make money off any of our children. But we’re going to love Michael at 37 just like we loved him at 16″.
According to the petition, the NFL player received no compensation for the movie, while the Tuohys are said to have received $225,000 plus 2,5% of all future declared net proceeds because they are said to have negotiated the film’s deal through an agency.
