Kendrick Lamar seems to be having the time of his life as he unintentionally ends up having another win against Drake. Earlier this year, the two rappers got engaged in a long and gritty battle where they traded bars instead of physical blows. In fact, the bars seemed to have done much more damage than physical blows could ever do.

As if Lamar coming out at the top in the beef was not enough of a blow to Drake’s reputation, the former is now also going to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. While fans are beyond happy and excited to watch the Poetic Justice singer take the stage, they have also not been above taking unsolicited digs at Drake and it is safe to say that the internet is not the safest place for the God’s Plan singer right now.

It is no secret that the months-long feud between Drake and Lamar is one for the rap history books. This feud was an escalation of the years of cold war between the two singers. In 2013, Lamar famously dissed several rappers on Big Sean’s Control. However, he later claimed that it was just friendly competition.

What was supposed to be friendly competition turned into a silent war that lasted for years if some of the potential disses on their tracks were anything to go by. Things turned particularly ugly this year with Lamar releasing Like That in response to Drake and J. Cole’s First Person Shooter.

The back-and-forth went on until May when the One Dance singer released The Heart Part 6, but it did not help much because several publications claimed that Lamar was the winner with his song Not Like Us.

Now, he has another win under his belt, with the announcement of his Super Bowl performance. That is how Drake has landed on the radar of many fans who are openly dragging him on X.

The reason why fans are having this kind of reaction is that Lamar is definitely going to sing one of the diss tracks he wrote to fire back at Drake which would mean that millions of people would witness him singing the diss track publicly.

The National Football League, Roc Nation, and Apple Music announced the news about Lamar’s head-lining act on Sunday. The first time he performed on the Super Bowl stage was in 2022 when he was invited as a part of the event’s first showcase for hip-hop music. In a statement (via The New York Times), Lamar addressed the latest announcement, saying:

Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.

The founder of Roc Nation, Jay-Z did not hold back his praise for the Backseat Freestyle singer. He said:

Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.

The feud with Drake has undoubtedly played a huge role in this new achievement of the 17-time Grammy-winning artist. That said, Lamar is certainly going to present fans with a wonderful performance at the event given his caliber.
