WandaVision finally has its finale episode of the season streaming on Disney+. And it could very well be the doorway that opens up Scarlet Witch to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Even before we got to watch the first episode of Marvel’s WandaVision; audiences already knew that Scarlet Witch would be a major part of Doctor Strange 2 movie. And with her presence in the movie, it is safe to say the concept of multiverse would be at the forefront of it.

So when the last episode of WandaVision aired, and audiences got to patch the post-credit scene; there was a lot to be said.

[Spoiler Ahead]

In the final scene of the last episode, we see Wanda in a mountain retreat making tea. After finally figuring out her mystic abilities; and how the grief of losing Vision along with other comrades during the war against Thanos had made her powers manifest in ways that even show wasn’t able to understand at first.

The warped reality of Westview, where Wanda tried to live a farce life in the most perfect sitcom setting possible; was broken when she learned the truth about what was really going on. She says goodbye to the fantasy of a happy family behind; and moves from Westview to find isolation so as to understand her powers better.

There’s a lot to dissect in that final montage.

We see her cabin swirling with intricate designs; which are probably runes, as we have already seen Wanda using those in the last episode. And given she now has the Darkhold, she definitely has learnt more about the mystic arts.

To find perspective on an isolated mountain retreat, where Wanda is making her tea; the camera moves to see her astral projection poring over the Darkhold that Agatha gave her to learn more about the mystic arts. In her quest to expand her knowledge, Wanda is trying to focus on her own self for the first time. She at that point hears her kids call out for help before the screen goes dark.

The secrets and insights the Darkhold contains could offer Wanda the chance to even bring back her children, or find a reality in which versions of them actually exist. On the off chance that that were the situation, her investigation of the multiverse could fill in as the pathway for Doctor Strange’s contribution in the forthcoming sequel.

The Agent of Madness:

We all know Chiwetel Ejiofor will reprise the role of Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; serving as the upcoming Marvel movie’s main villain. But there is a very real possibility that Wanda might also become one of the main antagonists of the movie. Even though she accepted her reality and is now staying in isolation to learn more about her powers; that is not to say that she has complete control over them.

Her instability, and maybe the urge to have her children by her side, could be the reason that leads her to discover the multiverse. We have already seen Wanda’s madness; and it’s not hard to imagine that her madness might lead to the introduction of the multiverse into the MCU.

It’s no accident that Agatha makes reference to the Sorcerer Supreme explicitly while detailing Wanda’s powers; and a conflict between the two now seems pretty unavoidable. Exactly how much in control Wanda will be the when the conflict takes place and whether her “madness” will be an important factor it, is not yet clear. Strange will have to manage Wanda in case she ends up chewing more than she can swallow; especially when it comes to her powers.
