DC star Zachary Levi and The Last of Us fame Bella Ramsey are going to star in the animated adventure-comedy movie Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The movie is a sequel to the 2000 movie Chicken Run. The movie was released to great critical acclaim and received a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is the first movie in which Zachary Levi will be seen after Shazam: The Fury of Gods which was released earlier this year and bombed at the box office. Recently, it was announced that Chicken Run: The Dawn of Nuggets will be released on December 15 and fans are pretty enthusiastic about it.

Zachary Levi’s Chicken Run Gets Positive Response

The first Chicken Run earning approximately $224 million on an estimated production budget of $42-45 million speaks enough about how much people liked it. Considering its success, it can be presumed that fans might be interested in a sequel of the highest-grossing stop-motion animated movie. Judging by these enthusiastic reactions, it is clear that fans are willing to watch the movie. Even so, some fans have expressed their disappointment about not having Mel Gibson as the voice artist for the character of Rocky Rhodes while others have criticized the studios for recasting with famous actors.

Zachary Levi’s Chicken Run is Getting Early Screenings in UK

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nuggets is directed by Sam Fell who is known for his work in the animated movies Paranorman and Flushed Away. The movie will have a world premiere at the 67th London Film Festival from October 4 to October 15. This premiere is scheduled two months ahead of the movie’s release on Netflix in December.

Director Sam Fell has expressed his utter delight about this, saying:

“What an honour to world premiere our film on home turf at the London Film Festival this year. Dawn of the Nugget showcases the amazing talent and ingenuity of the crew at Aardman backed by the enduring passion of the team at Netflix. In the movie, Zachary Levi is cast as Rocky Rhodes, Thandiwe Newton as Rocky’s wife Ginger and Bella Ramsey as Molly who is the daughter of Ginger and Rocky. The movie will see Ginger putting the chicken flock’s hard-earned freedom at risk to achieve her dream of a peaceful island sanctuary that is far from the cruelty of the human world.
