The Last of Us Star Isabela Merced’s Tall Claims About Her Chemistry with Bella Ramsey Could Backfire if it Fails to Beat One Scene From Season 1
One of the biggest and most successful shows that came out in 2023 was HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama series The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the lead. One of the highly anticipated series, HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama series The Last of Us, will introduce the audience to Isabela Merced, who was recently seen in Madame Web. Merced plays the character of Dina, who is Ramsey’s Ellie’s romantic interest in the show. In her recent conversation with Collider, the actress candidly spoke about the chemistry she shared with young actress Bella Ramsey. She said,
“I’m so excited for people to see my chemistry with Bella. Bella and I have so much chemistry. From the first day, it was there. There’s no work to be done. I really respect Bella. I just saw that Catherine called Birdy and Bella have such range and honesty about their work. I’m learning so much. I’m very honored to be here.”
The actress, during her conversation, explained that she has been a fan of the series, but she only played the second game, which she described as an experience. Merced added that people have asked her how she enjoys playing a sad story, to which she replies that it’s because the game is so well made.
“When you see the Bloaters, your heart starts racing, your hands are all sweaty, and you can barely hold onto the controller. It’s just an amazing experience. I consider anything that makes my heart rate go up to be a fun experience.”
Madame Web actress gives thumbs up to Neil Druckmann, revealing that creator Craig Mazin and Druckmann reached out to her team for the role. After playing the second game, the actress met the creators and mentioned that there was an instant connection.
Fans were quickly reminded of the romantic tension leading to a kiss between Ellie and Riley in Season One Episode 7 which was highly admired by the audience. It was said at the time that the two actresses share impeccable chemistry on-screen. So, after Madame Web actress claimed that there was no work to be done with her chemistry with Ramsey as it had been there since day one, fans expect more that how it was for Ellie and Riley and they are excited to see how their romantic arc would show on-screen.
Isabela Merced reveals The Last of Us co-star Bella Ramsey’s advice helped her
In her interview with Flaunt Magazine, the actress revealed that she received good advice from Ramsey on the seats of The Last of Us season two. Merced added,
“She really just laid it all out there, and her advice has been great and true. They put people first on this set, and that’s really lovely and often a rare thing to see in this industry.”
Isabela Merced, who will be seen in James Gunn’s Superman, shared that filming season two has been exhausting, but she is sure that she will feel amazing once all the hard work is done and the projects come out. She is hopeful that the projects to receive the attention they deserve.
