Actor Tyrese Gibson is a big fan of his character in the movie Morbius, even though critics hated it and audiences didn’t flock to theaters. Despite scathing reviews and a box office flop, the actor has expressed his desire to reprise his role in a potential sequel to the 2022 film.

The movie Morbius tells the story of Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto), a scientist with a rare blood disease. Desperate for a cure, he attempts a risky experiment using vampire bat DNA. Instead of a cure, he gains superhuman abilities like strength, speed, and echolocation, but also develops a thirst for blood.

While Gibson is excited about the idea of a Morbius 2, the first movie didn’t do so great with critics or in theaters, so it might not happen. Despite that, Sony Pictures is pushing ahead with more Spider-Man Universe movies. They’ve got two new ones planned for 2024: Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Kraven the Hunter. With these two flicks, Sony is aiming to replicate the success of earlier Spider-Man films.

For fans of comic books, the talk about Morbius 2 brings a mix of hope and caution. Will Sony pay attention to what fans say and make changes, or will they keep going in a direction that disappoints both critics and audiences? We’ll just have to wait and see
