In Hollywood, the romantic relationship of the stars is considered as volatile as any movie plot. And while the Batman star Ben Affleck had already been through these situations, he never thought it could be something he couldn’t handle after ditching Gwyneth Paltrow for Jennifer Lopez. Talking about this in an interview back in 2003 Affleck revealed how paparazzi and his ex-girlfriend’s fans went insane after he started dating Jennifer Lopez.

Ben Affleck Was Not Prepared For Media Attention During His Relationship With Jennifer Lopez

Before dating the Hollywood beauty Jennifer Lopez, the Batman star Ben Affleck was in a brief relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow. Affleck and Paltrow started dating each other after working on the Oscar-winning movie Shakespeare in Love. However, the relationship ended sooner than anticipated and Affleck moved on with Lopez.

Although while moving on with Lopez back in those days, Affleck never imagined that both the media and fans of his ex would haunt him so much. Talking about this in an interview with SF Gate, Affleck said “I’d been through it before with Gwyneth, and I thought, how bad could it get, how much could they do? Well … I found the answer to that question. And … I wasn’t really prepared”

Further talking about this in another interview Affleck said that to stay out of the eyes of both fans and the media, both he and Lopez planned out strategies. Talking about this Affleck said that both he and Lopez decided on some changes which included Affleck hiding in the backseat of the car and others.

Talking about this with The Gainesville Sun, Affleck said that the strategy they drew out was simple to keep it low until some new couple comes into the town. “Then there’s somebody else – like Colin Farrell’s dating Britney Spears – and you’re off the hook,” he said.

Despite of all Affleck’s efforts, nothing prevented the media from interfering in his relationship with Jennifer Lopez.

Media Overload Led to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s First Breakup

Before rekindling their romance in 2021, the iconic couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had a long-standing history dating back to 2002. Both Affleck and Lopez first met on the set of their 2002 film Gigli.

Even though Lopez was then married to Cris Judd, she was quick to divorce him after meeting Affleck. Moving on with Affleck, both got engaged and were all set to marry, however, much to everyone’s surprise they postponed their wedding in 2003 only to go separate ways four months later.

As per the reports, the relationship between the two came to an end due to excessive media attention. Being the superstars in the early 90s their relationship received more than necessary media attention which eventually resulted it to end.
