Olivia Wilde recently talked about her ex-partner Jason Sudeikis’ hateful act that he pulled off earlier this year. In April, Jason Sudeikis sent the actress their children’s custody papers while she was on stage promoting her movie, Don’t Worry Darling, at CinemaCon. The Tron: Legacy star recently talked about the incident in an interview with Variety. She explained how she was also unaware of the contents of the envelope and how the incident only affected her two young children. The ex-couple started dating in 2013 and ended their relationship in late 2020.

Olivia Wilde believes that it was an attack

During the interview, Olivia Wilde talked about how she felt like it was a breach of security,

“It was my workplace. In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special Covid tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event — this was something that required forethought.”

She was on the stage to promote her movie Don’t Worry Darling when she received the document.

She explained how it only affected her children

The ex-couple shares two young children, Otis and Daisy. She explained how this incident has affected her children,

“The only people who suffered were my kids, because they’ll have to see that, and they shouldn’t ever have to know that happened. For me, it was appalling, but the victims were 8 and 5 years old, and that’s really sad. I chose to become an actress; I willingly walked into the spotlight. But it’s not something my children have asked for. And when my kids are dragged into it, it’s deeply painful.”

After the incident, Jason Sudeikis claimed that he had “no prior knowledge” of the plan.

She thinks Jason Sudeikis tried to sabotage her

The actress is now dating Harry Styles

The actress believes Jason Sudeikis tried to sabotage her as his intention was to distract her while she was promoting her movie,

“I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing. To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I’m not easily distracted. But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there’s a reason I left that relationship.”

However, when the actress opened the envelope onstage in front of thousands, she seemed to remain calm and carried on with what she was doing without any issues.

Don’t Worry Darling, directed by Olivia Wilde, is available for streaming on Netflix right now.
