Unquestionably, Captain America is one of the most loved superheroes in the Marvel universe. And similarly, his movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are considered one of the bests in the saga. However, we saw Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers/Captain America handing over his shield to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Therefore, since then the question of whether Evans will ever be back with the character has remained a big question mark. Recently, the Gray Man actor addressed the curiosity of all the fans and viewers.
He also mentioned that there were many stories of his Marvel character left to be told. And as Mackie prepares for his upcoming film as the new Captain, Evans seems to be taking a break from the character.
Chris Evans Finally Addressed the Curiosity Regarding His Return as Captain America
In 2019, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers passed over his Captain America title to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon. However, since then, fans have been wondering whether Evans will ever make a comeback on the screen as his character. And after a long while, he recently shared his view and addressed any curiosity that has been burning in all his fans’ minds. While attending the C2E2 (Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo) this year, he finally decided to open up.
Evans quenched the curiosity but it has left many fans disappointed no doubt. While talking about his character the actor said,
“He means so much to me, and I do. I think there are more Steve Rogers stories to tell, sure”
This clearly shows the actor’s love for his Marvel character. However as to a possible comeback, Evans shared,
“It doesn’t quite feel right, right now.”
Anthony Mackie is the Next Captain America
At the end of the Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers a.k.a Captain America passed on his title and his Vibranium shield to the Falcon. And now, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon will return as the new Captain America in the upcoming 2024 film. It is titled Captain America: New World Order. The work is still in progress and Mackie has been busy with the filming.
The movie is going to be the fourth in MCU’s Captain America franchise. As for now, the plot of the film has been kept under wraps, so only time will tell what’s about to go down.
